Going Away

Jealousy is an evil force, and I hate it. I have to admit that I am very guilty of that sometimes. Where does Jealousy come from? I have no idea. I can tell you some ways that I have found that have helped me quell the stupid Jealousy.

Being ignored was the first thing that would get me jealous. I would be talking to someone, and then someone else would come along and begin talking, and the person with whom I had been speaking would turn around and talk to this other person. It happens all the time to me still.

I used to become jealous of the person who they turned around to listen to. I figured that anything that I said had no importance in the scheme of things and that I was worthless. I was then made to realize that it was usually because what I was saying was truly boring and not of much consequence whereas the other person would be telling jokes and making everyone laugh.

What did I do about this problem? Absolutely nothing. I just realized that I wasn't interesting, and then I just accepted it. Acceptance can really be the key sometimes. Denial never seems to be able to get anyone anywhere. The problem continues, but I just reassure myself that I am not worthless, and that these incidences don't mean that the friend with whom I was talking really meant to ignore me.

Electronic jealousy is my term for Jealousy that arises when using a text-based method of communication. This specifically refers to IM. The problem is timing. When you say something, and the other person doesn't respond for a while it can oftentimes mean that they are chatting with someone else and favor that person over you. This is usually the case. The best way to cope with that problem is to lie to yourself and pretend that the went to the bathroom, and got something to eat, or to do something else to pass the time such as watch TV or browse the web.
